Goodbye Split Ends!

After my recent skincare kick, I decided it was time to do something about my mane. As my friends and my boyfriend know, I am obsessed with my hair and when I say obsessed I mean it to the highest degree. For starters I have completely virgin hair, for those that don’t know what that means; it refers to hair that is completely unprocessed. Having virgin hair was never a huge deal to me, I have wanted to experiment with it and get it dyed a light brown but to be completely honest the thought of it going wrong is enough to make me never touch my hair again! I guess it also doesn’t help that I have lost all faith in hairdressers after my 2010 ‘full fringe’ incident, don’t ask, it’s a long story and brings back unpleasant memories of horrible hair days.

Anyway, I have now decided to try and keep my hair in the best condition it can be and with the amount of split ends I had, I’d better be quick about it. I was on the hunt for a good deep conditioning mask at an affordable price and the first place I looked was my local ‘Boots’ store. All the products I could see seemed slightly pricey for the amount you get, and because I have such long hair I was going to have to purchase more than 1 tub. There I was wandering up and down the hair care aisle when a product caught my eye for 2 reasons: the first reason being the price, £1.87 and the second being the colour, it was bright yellow.  After reading the tub I thought I couldn’t really go wrong with the price, and I had heard/read good things about the brand (Dark and Lovely).

The mask I picked up is an ultra-cholesterol conditioning mask for very damaged hair. A lot of people may not know, but cholesterol based products are amazing for conditioning your hair. It can be found in quite a few products and is known to be quite cheap, and will give you the best results. I have used my conditioning mask a couple of times now; covering the end of my hair with the product and leaving it to soak for 10 minutes whilst I do my skincare routine, when the time is up I rinse thoroughly. I find it is best to do this at night because it can leave your hair feeling slightly greasy the next day, at this point I would go in and rinse again after a night of letting it dry. I really hope this makes sense.

Here’s the verdict. I freaking LOVE this product, the price is so affordable and the product itself is wonderful! Please don’t forget that damaged hair is damaged hair. There is little you can do to salvage it because it is dead hair, the only solution would be to cut it off. However, using deep conditioning masks with cholesterol is your best bet to restore the hair as best as possible. Since buying this product my ends seems to be very nourished and it tends not to split as easily. I am a very happy bunny and my mane is back to looking long and silky. Over and out!

Love Dinar xx
